Cry Dear Developers, Love the software  but not the limits. NOWHERE in the description of this software did I see any warning that I'd be limited to 21 IP addresses — and that I need to buy the pro edition to get more.

If I had known, I WOULD have bought the Pro Edition, and I'd even do so now if I could at least have a credit for the $4.99 I already spent. Why is there no upgrade option? As is, I feel cheated, because I have many more than 21 addresses in my home network — and, with so many ether-net wired devices, many other users are going to be in the same boat.

Hi Arthur,

We do try to make an effort to keep the distinctions between the versions clear. The second sentence in the app description on the app store currently reads:

"The Home edition of IP Scanner supports identifying and customizing results for up to 21 devices on your home network. To manage networks larger than 21 devices, consider IP Scanner Pro, also available on the App Store."

However, we are very aware that it is easy to miss things like this because part of the description is obscured by a 'read more' button, etc. We're really sorry about this – we would LOVE to provide an upgrade path but Apple does not yet support in-app upgrades for the Mac like they do for iOS devices.

What we can do is provide an upgrade path to the non appstore version of our software, and then migrate you to the appstore version once Apple supports in-app upgrades (which they claim they are working on!)

Same with me – just bought the Home-Version and quickly found out I have much more than 21 Ip-devices in my home.

Would like an upgrade path as well – e.g. returning the home version.

There is no official way to do this because the Mac App Store does not provide for upgrade licenses or in-app upgrades. However, we might be able to work something out nevertheless. Please contact us via the support email address and we'll see what we can do.
