This may seem like a stupid question, but I know if IP addresses on the Blacklist are actually blocked from my network. Or are those addresses only filtered outof IP Scanner and may still be on my network? The FAQ and Help menus were not explicit. Thanks!
the latter is the case. there is no way any application can block another network device unless that application is running on the router itself or on a machine that is otherwise acting as a network gateway…
I'm having trouble understanding this. I have a network with 3 routers, all various versions of Airport Extreme. The service comes in via a dish, goes to router 1. It wirelessly connects to router2, and also goes via ethernet cable to router3. When I block a user that user shows still shows up on router2, the one that is connected wirelessly.
Using IP Scanner, you cannot block users on your network at all; the best you can do is hide them in the scan list, which is what the blacklist feature is for.
To block them altogether, you'll need to log into each router and find the part of the admin interface on each router where you can ban individual devices.
