My PC hard drive burned up, now trying to upload music from iTunes on my iPad and iPhone. Also want to transfer photos from iPad and iPhone 4 to my new MacBook. I see iTunes won't transfer, but why can't DC find the photos on my iPad so I can send them to the MacBook?

it can but this will be a tedious process as you will have to transfer each photo individually. for what you are trying to do you would be better off looking for an application for your PC that will let you browse the iPad directly and download all the photos at once.
